  • What are the operating hours?

    Operating hours are from 7:30am to 5:30 pm Monday to Friday, 52 weeks a year. We are closed on weekends and public holidays.

  • Do the children receive meals?

    We provide morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and also provide breakfast and a late snack where required. We have our own cook creating fresh, healthy meals for the children. A nutritious diet is vital for children’s development, so we make sure to provide meals that give children all the nutrients and energy they need. Children love to eat together, so the meal times are always fun!

  • Are nappies provided for babies and toddlers?

    No, parents provide nappies for their babies and toddlers.

  • How much does it cost to send my child Kumeu Childcare?

    Fees will vary depending on full time or part time. Talk to the Centre Manager for a quote and to know more about WINZ subsidy you may qualify for, visit www.workandincome.govt.nz or call them on 0800 559 009.

  • Do I still need to pay for a scheduled day if my child is sick?

    Yes, you need to pay for a scheduled sick day to cover operating costs. This is standard practice across the industry.

  • What happens when we go on holidays?

    Normal fees apply for all absences (including Public Holidays) that fall on a usual day of attendance unless the family provides written consent two weeks in advance to apply 50 per cent discount on the full fee. Holiday discount is available for up to three weeks of care per financial year.

  • Does the centre offer free 20 ECE Hours?

    Our Centre offers the 20 Hours ECE initiative for 3 year till 6 year olds, reducing the weekly fee for this age group.
    Funding rates for "20 hours" have been calculated to cover a minimum standard of care and education. If you would like further information on the 20 Hours ECE we are happy to discuss this with you.

  • Do I need to pack a lunch?

    Kumeu Childcare provides meals, including morning and afternoon tea and lunch. We also offer breakfast and a late snack.

  • What else should I pack in my child's bag?

    It’s always a good idea to keep a couple of changes of clothing handy in case need of change.
    In summer Kumeu Childcare provides child-safe sunscreen but if your child’s skin is sensitive, please feel free to pack your own preferred brand. A sun safe hat which covers your child’s face, neck and ears.
